We are looking for a talented Business Analyst to join the Product Assurance organization.


This role will be a key member of the Compliance Systems Services team, focused on supporting the Amazon Private Brands Product Safety and Compliance org. You’ll be challenged to innovate using a variety of technologies and data sources, and you will work with top-notch technical and non-technical professionals across multiple organizations and regions in order to develop and deliver complex solutions that will sustain operational excellence. We are looking for someone who is motivated by thinking big, moving fast, and inventing new ways to create and use data and available technologies at Amazon.


This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical abilities, deep knowledge of business analyst solutions, solid work ethic and drive, the ability to work independently and with primary stakeholders to solve complex medium and large-scale issues, the ability to recommend solutions to unstructured problems, and the skill to manage both with and without authority. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and extracting data from various sources to solve business problems.


Key job responsibilities


Partnering with Business, Legal, and Tech stakeholders to understand challenges and provide data/analysis to help drive program success


Uncovering trends and correlations through data mining and analysis to develop insights that can help our stakeholders to make effective decisions


Building dashboards and tools that will allow our team and cross-functional partners to answer business questions using AWS solutions, Python, PostgreSQL and/or R


Providing wing-to-wing project lifecycle execution (project planning, execution, risk assessment and system availability)


Executing analytical projects and understanding of analytical methods (like ANOVA, Distribution theory, regression, forecasting, Machine Learning Techniques, etc.)


Developing and overseeing the initiation of strategy recommendations


Using statistical analysis to segment customer behavior and develop targeted solutions to proactively determine and detect compliance risks


Understanding the tools used and driving product and tech solutions with data


About The Team


Private Brands Product Safety and Compliance (PBPSC) owns defining, communicating, and executing the product safety and compliance requirements and specifications for Amazon Private Brands products.


Compliance Systems Services (CSS) owns the technical roadmap, tool development, and data strategy across PBPSC.


Basic Qualifications


  • Experience with SQL
  • 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Familiarity with statistical models and data mining algorithms
  • 3+ years of experience with Tableau, AWS technologies (QuickSight, Redshift, S3, EMR), Power BI, or other data visualizations software
  • Analytical mindset and ability to see the big picture and influence others

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
