The Genesee County Business Education Alliance (BEA) is an organization whose mission is to foster a partnership between business and education, and to assist students in preparing for the world of work.
Housed at the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, the BEA creates and implements programs that are designed to create a stronger workforce for businesses in Genesee County and educate our youth on the various pathways available to them.
Programs such as Junior Achievement, business tours for students and teachers, job shadow opportunities, mock interviews, career exploration camps, career fairs and classroom speakers expose our young people to a variety of careers and workforce experiences.
The BEA is an organization that relies upon the support of the business community and the local schools to fund its programming.Local businesses, companies, and organizations are encouraged to get involved in leading our next generation and providing them with the tools needed for success.
Responsibilities
The part-time BEA coordinator would assist BEA Program Director with:
- Market and publicize programs on BEA social media.
- Connect with school liaisons to determine areas where career exploration programming can expand.
- Maintain current career exploration programming in Genesee County schools like career presentations, business field trips, job shadows, mock interviews, Junior Achievement, etc..
- Work with local businesses and industries to create and/or update youth career exploration programming to align to industry needs.
Qualifications
- Associates degree with at least six years of experience as described above
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Communications, or a similar field OR
- Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience in teaching, public relations, industrial administration, business administration, marketing or advertising OR
- Associate’s degree in Business, Education, Marketing or Communications with at least 2 years of experience as described above OR
