We are seeking an experienced Brand Manager who will be responsible for leading strategic brand plan development and implementation for wines imported by Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars dba. Vinattieri, including the Marchesi Antinori portfolio of wines. The successful candidate will exhibit a general manager mindset and will be focused on building brand equity in the U.S. market, driving and monitoring brand performance, and building collaborative relationships with supplier partners.

We are best known for producing the Cabernet Sauvignon that beat the best of Bordeaux in the 1976 Judgment of Paris. Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is also proud to be the importer for the Marchesi Antinori family of wines via our importer arm, the newly established Vinattieri.
What you will do:
- Lead a cross functional and agency working team, which includes but is not limited to the global brand owners, agencies, sales, and other business departments fostering and building a strong multi-functional team. Collaboration, alignment, and influence with multiple stakeholders is a key to success.
- Work closely with Italy, Sales and Customer Service to assure proper inventory management and planning both in Italy and in our stateside warehouse.
- Manage jointly funded A&P budgets to maximize the effectiveness of marketing spending and to achieve Imports Portfolio profit objectives.
- Exhibit strong detail-oriented logistics management in partnership with our internal team.
- Act as day-to-day general manager; develop brand Annual Operating Plan and Consumer Engagement Platform; Manage brand P&L, drive A&P spend guidelines.
- Create business-building programs, point of sale, sales literature, events and sponsorships to target luxury/ultra-premium wine consumers in both off-premise and on-premise channels.
- Partner closely with the Sr. Director, Marketing to develop and execute long-term strategic plans for the imports portfolio.
- Direct the efforts of advertising and promotions and associated creative.
- Lead the analysis and reporting of market and competitor trends to identify salient business issues/opportunities.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Minimum 5 years CPG (consumer package goods) marketing experience (3+ years at Marketing Manager level).
- Outstanding communication skills, including formal presentations and one-on-one communication. Italian language skills a plus.
- High level of creativity, both with problem-solving and program development.
- Must be available for up to 15-20% travel.
- Program and project management skills, including the ability to take multiple projects from concept through execution, accompanied by the ability to prioritize projects.
- Emphasis on Italian fine wine experience preferred.
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); MBA or advanced degree preferable.
- 3+ years’ experience marketing imported wines into the U.S.
- Must have experience in managing and partnering with a broad set of stakeholders in matrix organization as well as external agency partners.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have solid experience developing brand strategies grounded in insights and analytics.
- Must have experience managing financials and business performance including budget management.
- Highly proficient with PC-based software and information systems.
Compensation:
$110,000 - $130,000/yr. based upon relevant experience.
