The Benefits Analyst will lead the process of analyzing data between First America’s payroll system, outsourced benefit administration system and locally administered benefit plans. Perform data analysis to find discrepancy and suggest solutions. Interpret CBA language relating to plan offerings and deductions.


Benefits Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Support other Health and Welfare Department initiatives as needed
  • Pull reports from the payroll and benefits administrator site and analyze data for consistency and accuracy, then troubleshoot any issues
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Establish working relationships with locations, unions, and trust contacts for the MEPs
  • Review and respond to inquiries from locations, unions, and trust contacts
  • Analyze payroll deduction spreadsheets and work with vendors and internal staff to reconcile
  • Review and interpret Collective Bargaining Unit Agreements
  • Work with outsourced benefit providers and multi-employer benefit trusts (MEP) to reconcile invoices and ensure employee deductions are accurate
  • Confirm benefit deductions are set up properly per the applicable union agreements

Benefits Analyst Qualifications

  • Self-motivated but also willing to work in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
  • Experience reading and interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) is a plus
  • Experience with benefits and/or payroll is strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookups required
  • Very detail-oriented and very organized
  • Strong analytical skills
