The Role

Quotes, create and place Purchase Orders for goods and services and assist in the control and availability of goods and services used by the company in its networks and everyday business transactions. Identify and act upon opportunities to commoditize products and services and lead efforts to identify other cost savings opportunities. Assess supplier order management milestone performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), coordinate contract price updates and supplier catalog information and enhance supplier deliveries and performance while maintaining excellent supplier relationships. Research needs, recommend solutions, propose and prepares business procedures required to address specific business needs.

Developing- to intermediate- level professional with knowledge of and exposure to fundamental
theories, principles, and concepts.

The Main Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to identify commodity groupings and suppliers.
• Ensure integrity of vendor database information within procurement system.
• Drive resolution of process issues and enhance vendor delivery performance.
• Receive and review requisitions. Ensures that the least cost, equivalent quality, and network approved supplier is being used.
• Apply knowledge of principles in a specialized field.
• Recommend jeopardy resolutions to supplier representatives and/or internal clients.
• Identify and resolve all purchase order date and availability jeopardy daily. Identify, document, and escalate order jeopardy conditions.
• Update internal databases with information as required.
• Create and issue change orders.
• Analyze data, identify several different solutions along with pros and cons with respect to impact on the business.
• Assist Procurement Manager with pricing disputes and processing of claims for damaged or missing material.
• Verify order receipts, track delivery dates, and notify requestor of potential delivery discrepancies.
• Apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues.
• Review requisitions to determine if vendor is the least cost equivalent quality vendor.
• Using education and experience resolve a range of routine and non-routine issues.
• Perform audits to identify material that could be contracted with preferred suppliers.
• Help develop processes to formalize purchasing team operations.
• Create and release POs to supplier.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancement and assist with testing of internal procurement systems and databases.
• Qualify and select commodity vendors based on price and technical capability.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent typically with 2-4 years.
