ASSOCIATE BRAND MANAGER – SMIRNOFF FLAVORED MALT BEVERAGES (FMB)

We’re looking for an associate brand manager to join Smirnoff, the world’s #1 vodka with a powerful house of vibrant, category leading flavors. While Smirnoff is a global trademark known around the world, spanning both spirits and beer, this role will be focused on the Diageo Beery Company (DBC) side of the organization focused on Flavored Malt Beverages, Smirnoff Ice. This is a fast moving, ever-changing, 20+ million case business driven strongly by flavor and lifestyle trends. We are seeking an insightful, culturally in-tune and savvy brand marketer with strong collaboration skills and marketing functional excellence to deliver brand plans and execution that grows share for a nearly half a billion-dollar business. A leader able to engage others around their ideas and inspire their agencies and other partners to dream big and implement even bigger and with excellence.


Based in Manhattan, the Associate Brand Manager will be responsible for implementing an annual marketing spend of over $40million dollars. The Associate Brand Manager (FMB) will be responsible for developing and implementing brand plans to drive share and NSV growth, develop growth drivers for all trademarks, build brand strength and deepen consumer connections.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist in development of brand communications, media plans, and PR activity to embed Smirnoff into culture. Thoughtfully developing aspirational briefs that encourage agencies to deliver distinctive creative that recruits the next generation of Smirnoff drinkers, with a particular focus on multi-cultural consumers.
  • Responsible for developing through-the-line, consumer centric programs across all retail channels and very targeted plans to address specific needs in top markets ensuring commercial teams are equipped with the right tools and selling materials to implement.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams (Customer Marketing, Finance, Consumer Planning, CP&A, Sales and National Chain Account teams) to gain alignment on strategic priorities, ensure plans are useful, and drive execution.
  • Responsible for managing and implementing A&P annual Brand budget of over $40M.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing through-the-line consumer facing through the Value Chain – Consumer, Customer, Distributor and in all channels – On premise, Off Premise, Non-Premise.
  • Responsible for performance and reporting for the Smirnoff FMB team
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of tools for maintaining consistency of brand identity and presentation across all channels and teams
  • Will support the critical thinking for and development of the Flavored Malt Beverage Portfolio annual business plans
  • Execution of all Trademark communications & annual Brand Media Plans including Brand Entertainment platforms, Marketing Innovation and Digital /Social Media Partnerships.


Experience


  • Depth knowledge of the US Malt & Alcohol industry and the competitive dynamics. (nice to have)
  • Appreciation of and passion for Challenger Brand Marketing principles and attitude.
  • 1-3 years marketing experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, Luxury or Lifestyle brand.
  • Comfortable managing risk and breaking corporate & consumer norms to prove the unproven to win big for the FMB Category.
  • Culture: Can do and for the people attitude and mentality to further drive our brand’s passion for inclusion and spirited fun.
  • Strong analytic and data driven experience
  • Prior experience of working cross-functionally with multiple functions.
  • Excellent multi-tasker who holds themselves to a world class standard of output and demonstrates a relentless desire to deliver the best performing marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a fast paced, multifaceted category with a rapid and competitive consumer purchase cycle and has a proven track record of succeeding against market conditions.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, partner engagement and decision-making skills.
