Compliance Manager - US Alcoholic Beverages

Tilray Brands’ craft beverages business is one of the fastest growing in United States with nation-wide and international distribution currently consisting of the SweetWater, Alpine, Green Flash, Good Supply, Montauk, and Happy Flower brands.
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our team to lead our beverage compliance function. This includes ensuring proper federal, state, and local licenses and permits; excise and other tax reporting and payments; and federal and state registrations and approvals. The Compliance Manger is also part of the innovation team ensuring compliance alignment with new products and businesses. The Compliance Manger shall also stay informed of and update the legal function on new laws, regulations, and requirements for alcoholic beverages. Additional projects and duties may also be assigned to support the legal function and the business’ short and long-term objectives of growth, a high-level of service, and agility.
The Compliance Manager reports to the Associate General Counsel for Beverages and Wellness and will manage the compliance team of one or more Compliance Associates and/or Analysts. This role will be based in Atlanta, GA with a flexible in-office / hybrid work arrangement. While preference and priority will be given to candidates in Atlanta, candidates with outstanding experience and credentials in New York and Colorado will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Manage regular production (Brewer Reports), excise and other tax reporting and payments
- Assist in the design of a detailed, documented, and scalable compliance program
- Manage surety bond program
- Manage applications for state brand registrations and renewals
- Manage TTB certification process for exports
- Assist with other alcoholic beverage compliance, regulatory, and legal matters as assigned
- Manage online compliance platforms
- Manage TTB Certificate of Label Approvals (COLAs) and formula submissions
- Work collaboratively with production, sales, innovation, finance, and other teams to ensure alignment on strategic priorities
- Manage state and local licenses and permits and renewals of the same
Qualifications:
- Experience interacting with government and regulatory officials
- Experience may be any combination of corporate, government, and/or law or compliance services firm roles
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (excel, word, teams, SharePoint, etc.) solutions
- 3+ years’ experience in alcoholic beverage compliance
- Paralegal certification a plus
- 5+ years’ experience in administration, legal, or compliance functions
- Familiarity with TTB and state alcoholic beverage regulations, programs, processes, and portals
- Familiarity with SOVOS tax and regulatory reporting solutions, including ShipCompliant
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
