Job Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organisation
This is an opportunity to blend trends and culture into meaningful PR strategies for a global brand. If you live and breathe streetwear culture, if you are sneakerhead and keep up with evolving media and social landscape; sports, streetwear, tech, music and sneaker trends this role is for you. This position requires an individual who is able to push creative boundaries, always bringing fresh ideas with smart strategy to marry campaigns with what is happening across sport and consumer trends. You must have a constant pulse on what’s happening in culture and be a brilliant storyteller.
You’ll implement earned PR strategies and programs that align adidas’ brand values, vision and business goals thru earned media and social across news, sport, lifestyle and fashion, educating and inspiring consumers about adidas products, athletes and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure global consistency of the overall adidas brand media message
  • Bring a strong media network of established and rising journalists / influencers across sport, fashion, lifestyle to launch campaigns, events (press conferences, interviews, media days) with adidas athletes and partners
  • Manage, develop and deploy PR strategies to support category priority concepts, products, campaigns, athletes, events, account partners, licensee and corporate initiatives where you’ll be pitching stories across lifestyle, culture, sports, art, music and fashion media / inflencers.
  • Work cross-functionally across North American and global brand stakeholders via the adidas Newsroom network, Brand Marketing (Communications, Digital, and Retail) and Product teams to deliver results-oriented strategies and programs that increase consumer and trade awareness of brand.
  • Understanding the evolving media landscape, you’ll look to multi-channel digital platforms (e.g. TikTok) for driving the fusion of editorial and compelling social storytelling with modern PR tactics beyond traditional .com and broadcast
  • Support and maintain our merchandised media showrooms in NYC to maintain press office initiatives; product seeding, seasonal press days and elevated media events
  • Manage roster of PR, social and creative production agencies; managing project briefs end to end thru execution, budget management, KPI tracking
  • Maintain and drive strategies in partnership with the SEO team that support PR and .com sales, driving traffic to ecom by consistently linking online earned coverage to .com
  • Ensure information flow across the Global and market PR/corporate communications network

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Fluent in English and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Affinity with cross-channel PR and a strong background in strategy, media relations, journalism / writing and digital PR / social media.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of consumer messaging and brand reputation .
  • Ability to manage and / or collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups: product marketing, communications, social, digital.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of strategic thinking and list of media contacts in the industry.
  • Broad understanding of and passion for the sports and fashion/entertainment industry.
Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • PR and social media experience

  • 3 years marketing agency experience or 5+ years of relevant work experience.

  • University Degree in PR, Marketing, Communications or a related field. Master or MBA a plus.
  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is ($90,000-119,255). Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
  • Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance. Employees accrue prorated flexible time off in the amount .4388 hours per day that increases with years of service, eleven paid holidays throughout the calendar year and Service Time Off during milestone years.
