ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Responsibilities

The Assistant Principal's responsibilities include providing support to the Superintendent and Principal in administrative tasks, such as supervision, evaluation, student discipline, scheduling, testing, coverage, transportation, and after-school activities. Additionally, the Assistant Principal will offer leadership, coordination, supervision, and management to the Related Services Staff, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders in designing and implementing curriculum and instructional programs aligned with Universal Design for Learning principles. The role also involves tracking Medicaid Billing, evaluating staff performance, and facilitating school-wide technology initiatives. Compliance with relevant regulations, leading Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, and fostering a safe learning environment are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications & Education

The incumbent will possess a minimum of NYS School Building Leader Certification and valid certification in Special Education and/or Psychology, and have effective and collaborative communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to administer sound special education practices. Prior administrative experience and expertise in delivering related services within an instructional environment prefer.
