Job Purpose: The Group Controller is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing monthly financial statements of group members. Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the annual audits/reviews performed by an outside accounting firms (prepare audit work papers, respond to auditor requests, and review reporting for accuracy)
• Assist with the annual budgeting process
• Oversee annual 401k match compliance and calculations, and 401k audits
• Oversee insurance audits
• Prepare work papers for the annual tax returns prepared by outside firms and review filings for accuracy
• Prepare Commissions calculations monthly
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure all Federal and State tax forms are filed timely
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage is in place for all group members
• Prepare and/or review and analyze monthly financial statements of group members and combined financial statements monthly
• Provide reports to the CFO and others in a timely manner
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Prepare / review all state sales tax returns and ensure timely filing
• Reconcile cash and investment accounts daily for all group members
• Select invoices for payment by group members on a weekly basis
• Supervise personnel in accounting roles (receipts, disbursements, billing, purchasing, payroll and payables)
• Review accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances

Requirements
Required:

• Combination of Public Accounting experience and construction industry experience a plus Preferred:
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Position requires a highly motivated person
• Strong Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Willingness to tackle all tasks assigned
• Willingness to learn and improve
• Certified Public Accountant
• CPA with audit experience a must
• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial analysis
• Ability to complete tasks quickly and accurately Education Requirements Required:
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
