Assistant Director, Construction Accounting

Palmer Group is partnering with our well-established client in their search for an Assistant Director, Construction Accounting. This role includes reconciling general ledger accounts and financial statement preparation. This executive staff position requires a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, experience performing month-end closings, high attention to detail, and accuracy. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire accounting process, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Payroll, and Inventory
• Conduct in-depth financial statement analysis
• Complete monthly accounting close, including preparation and review of journal entries, analytical reports, and account reconciliations
• Analyze and resolve complex accounting issues
• Oversee general ledger balancing and financial statement preparation

Requirements:

• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Prior experience performing month-end closings
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
