JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State University Multimedia Print Center is seeking an Accounting Assistant to handle financial operations for the unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and replenishing the postal accounts, as necessary.
- Other unit duties as assigned.
- The successful individual should be able to understand and apply compliance of the University’s financial policies.
- Entering postal charges against work-in-process jobs.
- Handling a large volume of data processing and responding to and resolving customer account inquiries and package inquiries.
- Verifying vendor invoices for express mail and paper purchases, and payment processing.
- Maintaining a mail management accounting system, accounts receivable, preparing invoices, and reconciliation of metered postage, live postage, permit postage, express mail, and international mail.
- Processing the monthly direct billings for Mailing activity.
2+ years related experience
Associate’s Degree or higher
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
The successful candidate must have a can-do attitude, excellent customer service skills, the ability to handle and prioritize multiple complex tasks, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, meet deadlines, and have a commitment to diversity, equity, respect, and inclusion. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database applications in analysis and reporting is required. This position requires the ability to collaborate and work in a team environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential. Work experience with SIMBA, Shop-on-Lion, WorkDay, and Maintenance requests is desired.
