Sodexo is seeking a Director for Design and Construction Project Management. This position is will guide a project management team in the daily operation of design and construction project management. This position is located in Houston, Texas and serves one of our largest energy clients.

The successful candidate will:

• Manage risks and establishes project recovery plans when required. Resolves disputes with minimal need for escalation.
• Ensure facilities management efforts and project management efforts function in a cooperative and complimentary manner.
• Have direct responsibility for the development and execution of the long-range capital projects plan.
• Ensure staff uniformly adheres to the usage of approved procedural tools (Tririga, WISP, Sharepoint).
• Ensure teams and team members adhere to fiscal obligations and budgets.
• Communicate positive and realistic expectations her or his team.
• Own responsibility for the technical library.
• Cultivates a positive culture of high safety and quality standards.
• Ensure that project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements and Sodexo standards.
• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), Measures of Performance (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to both construction and critical systems.
• Assist and may lead in developing engineering solutions for critical operations that include emergency generator systems, power transfer systems, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, and HVAC systems that cool business critical facilities and data centers.
• Assist with administration of the utility billing systems.
• Assist in developing Emergency and Business Continuity plans.
• At ADP’s request serves in a global capacity to develop solutions for ADP business units outside of the U.S.
• Lead the projects management team which is decentralized across the United States and Canada.
• Direct technical liaison and often a direct C-Suite liaison for project management, critical operations and plans related to both.
• Determine the correct delivery methods for various projects and will determine or recommend contract relationships for various projects.
• Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure project management plans respect concurrent and active business operations in all projects.

• Minimum of 8 years of direct project management experience in the building construction industry
• Experience with commercial construction
• Experience working as an owner’s representative is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in a related field Other related credentials in project and construction management is a plus

• Experience managing large projects
• An accomplished and effective communicator.
• Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines
• Proficient in Construction/Project Management software
• Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office(excel, word, power point, Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment).
