The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Application Support Specialist will work with the Department of Biostatistics' Data Management Unit (DMU) assisting in the development and support of research projects for the diverse CUIMC community, programming REDCap applications on behalf of researchers, and supporting the full life-cycle for user projects requiring data management services.
Responsibilities
Assess REDCap project requirements and pre-design for approval; Set up REDCap projects per protocol, i.e., longitudinal, classic, etc.; Develop REDCap instruments (forms and surveys) including conditional logic, translations, etc.; Perform thorough testing and validation of REDCap forms and projects; Finalize and move REDCap projects to production. 40% effort
Post-production REDCap support as needed; Organize and respond to email requests for technical assistance with REDCap. 40% effort
Assist clients with establishing and understanding user rights in REDCap; Train clients and develop client knowledge-base on REDCap project functionality and finalizing pre-production objectives. 10% effort
Assist the REDCap administrator in the creation of training materials. 5% effort
Other duties as assigned. 5% effort
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 of the 3 years experience with the REDCap platform or similar data collection platform
Thorough knowledge of REDCap project design fundamentals and REDCap instrument development.
Familiarity with: REDCap applications, utilities and modules, including RC mobile, Multi-Language Module (MLM) etc.; using data dictionaries as a development tool, data export/import procedures; setup and configuration of REDCap project dashboards; REDCap report development.
Ability to configure REDCap calendars, scheduling and Automated Survey Invitations (ASIs); and understanding of REDCap API methods.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, data type principles, basic programming fundamentals and client server model.
P roficiency with MS Office suite.
Experience in a university/medical center environment.
