Junior Applications Support Specialist

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Technology and Innovation Division seeks a Junior Applications Support Specialist to report to the Executive Director of Service Delivery. The Junior Applications Support Specialist will assist in providing guidance and support for various applications and end-user training on custom-built and off-the-shelf computer applications to help end users efficiently and effectively fulfill business objectives. Responsibilities include- troubleshoot applications and software issues for all internal business units and external partners; act as a liaison between end user and project management teams to facilitate resolution of issues; perform business analysis for Technology & Innovation tasks, as needed, to help develop new applications and maintain existing; provide end-user training, documentation, and videos for current applications, as well the testing of new or modified applications.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position; or,
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Candidate must have the ability to: implement effective problem-solving of complex issues and manage escalation to appropriate parties as needed; answer business user requests that may require technology related intervention; create user manuals and/or videos for existing and new applications; assist project teams to optimize application performance/functionality and other project related tasks. In addition, knowledge of o365 including Teams, and web interfaces. Prior experience providing application support and experience in training users on new application features and functionality is preferred. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with end users and all levels of management.
