Administrative Specialist (013786) Ridgeland Correctional Inst, Ridgeland (Jasper) Level 2

Job Responsibilities

• Types classification reports, correspondence, reviews, dispositions of inmate requests, memorandums and other related items for the classification section including confidential reports and personnel evaluations as required.
• Performs related duties as required by the classification caseworker II/I.
• Maintains suspense files and records.
• Prepares, types and distributes notification memorandum.
• Schedules and coordinates orientation, classification and staff meetings.
• Receives telephone calls and correspondence and refers them appropriately.
• Files information in institutional inmate records.
• Updates various reports and rosters.
• Enters various CRT transactions relating to job changes, disciplinary convictions and other classification actions as necessary.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

• Clerical experience;

OR

• A Degree may be substituted for the work experience.

May be required to have experience in use of CRT and/or personal computer.
