Yois Rehab Counselor (#010526) Allendale Correctional Inst, Fairfax (Allendale) Level 2

Job Responsibilities

• A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services.
• Coordinates intensive supervision officer (ISO) visitation scheduling and visit, addressing/rectifying onsite ISO concerns.
• Works closely with institutional personnel to ensure all referrals are completed.
• Resume preferred, but not required.
• Responds to offender requests through the inmate kiosk system and coordinates all components of the release process.
• Under dual supervision, provides program orientation, assessment, case management, group, reentry, individual and family rehabilitative counseling services for male offenders assigned to the YOIS-second chance program at Allendale Correctional Institution.
• Documents the YOIS offender file, automated medical records and prog screen within appropriate specifications.
• Must attend basic training and serve as YOIS counselor at Allendale correctional institution.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or social science and professional experience in human services or social services program. (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
SCDC Minimum Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
