Administrative Specialist (#010033) Ridgeland Correctional Inst, Ridgeland (Jasper) Level 2

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a filing system for all correspondences and memorandums, to include inmate request to staff, and prepare minutes for meetings.
• This position is under the direct supervision of the Associate Warden of Operations and will perform administrative/clerical duties in a medium/maximum correctional facility.
• Performs other administrative duties as required by the Associate Warden of Operations and the Major of security.
• Assist with special projects and compose a wide variety of documents.
• Maintain a filing system for monthly reports.
• Serves as back-up to counsel substitute for disciplinary hearings.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

• Two (2) years of clerical experience;
• A High School diploma.

OR

• A Degree may be substituted for the work experience.

May be required to have experience in the use of CRT and/or personal computer.
