Job Description
Founded by the Sisters of Charity of New York, the College of Mount Saint Vincent is an academically excellent, authentically inclusive, Catholic and ecumenical liberal arts college. Through its School of Professional and Continuing Studies, the College extends its primary undergraduate mission by offering high quality graduate studies in business, education and nursing and an array of undergraduate and certificate programs serving non-traditional students.

  • Maintain complete and accurate student records
  • Participate and assist with the student orientation
  • Maintain records and work with Registrar validating nursing program completion (accelerated and generic) and degree conferral for NCLEX Authority to Test
  • Administer and document accounts receivable and payment procedures
  • Maintain and update program’s database, linked to nursing accreditation and NYSE-B of Education, of all necessary student information for tracking purposes and assist with the submission of NYS Education Board Office of Profession, CCNE and AACN reports
  • Assist with School of Nursing program events (undergraduate and graduate), which includes, but not limited to invitations, programs, supplies, set up/clean up, order catering, etc
  • Assist in coordination, organization of academic events (Celebration of Achievement, Sigma Theta Tau Events, Certification development, Graduation, Award Preparation), develop nursing promotional flyers, brochures, website updates, and maintain record documentation of all events
  • Maintain records and update SON program budget documentation
  • Assists with the hiring and supervision of SON work-study students
  • Facilitate daily office operation, such as correspondence and reports, phone call screening, answering inquiries, coordinate SON appointments, assist with agenda, record meetings
  • Maintain office equipment, photocopier, laundry service for clinical lab, coordinating with facilities, campus events, student affairs for events and room request
  • Provide administrative, clerical and operational support to Dean
  • Facilitate daily office operation, correspondence and reports, calls screening, answer enquiries and order office supplies
Requirements
  • Excellent skills in computer programs such as Argos, Banner, Access, Canvas, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new computer database systems
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability of working with diverse population
  • Experience in a post-secondary or other educational setting preferred
  • Must have an energetic, engaging and positive personality and character
  • Genuine interest in helping low-income and first- generation college students overcome challenges and process through college
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast -paced, high student traffic office that serves 500 plus undergraduate college students
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including but not limited to evenings and weekends
