Overview A Senior Property Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of a property or portfolio of properties. This includes overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Property Accountant is also responsible for providing financial analysis and advice to the property owners and managers. Detailed Job Description The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a property or portfolio of properties. This includes managing the day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Property Accountant is also responsible for providing financial analysis and advice to the property owners and managers. Job Skills Required• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of experience in property accounting
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
• Knowledge of real estate accounting software
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of real estate accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
Job Experience
• 5+ years of experience in property accounting
• Experience in preparing financial statements
• Experience in preparing and analyzing financial reports
• Experience in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
Job Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day accounting activities of a property or portfolio of properties
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
• Provide financial analysis and advice to the property owners and managers
• Prepare and review budgets and forecasts
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance of the property
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
