Work Unit


Human Resources (HR) exists to provide human resource services to applicants, managers and employees who work for the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). The Human Resources team delivers services to the Department's offices and divisions through a dedicated HR Business Partner (HRBP) in collaboration with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) which includes Talent Acquisition (TA), Learning and Development (L&D), HR Operations and Civil Rights. Human Resources performs all activities related to the Department's human resources functions including compliance with State Personnel Board rules, recruitment and hiring, professional development, employee benefits, performance, discipline and civil rights.

What You'll be Doing


This Includes


The lead position is partially accountable for the work product of assigned staff. This position determines standards of performance, is responsible for assigning work, and monitoring progress of and flow of work and quality of work. The individual in this position actively engages in problem solving and identifies and develops process improvements, r ecommends and develops new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency in department and services performed, including new employee onboarding; develops and maintains handbook on policies and procedures. Additionally this position is tasked with evaluating reports, decisions and results of team initiatives in relation to established goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years full-time progressively responsible experience performing technical/administrative activities in a professional HR Office. Experience should include:


  • HR experience in a leadership capacity (lead, supervisor, project manager, etc..)


Substitutions


A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Conditions of Employment


The successful candidate in this position must be willing and available to submit to the following conditions:


  • Must be able to independently travel to conduct customer visits.
  • Must be willing to submit to and able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant’s prior State employment. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
  • Must be able and willing to work a Monday through Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and scheduled overtime if required.
