The Vice President of Supply Chain is an integral part of the executive team and will help lead the organization's growth strategy and oversee all day-to-day operations, with respect to sourcing, demand planning, inventory management, forecasting, inbound and outbound logistics, production planning, as well as raw materials and finished products.
Essential Functions
The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability - with or without reasonable accommodation - to perform the following duties but not limited to:
- Drive the development of analytical tools and reports to effectively manage supply chain performance KPI's across the company.
- Daily management and oversight of the customer service and outbound logistics group with an emphasis on quality service and cost management.
- Accountability for management of all Supply Chain related budgets including procurement spend, PPV, 3rd party logistics, carriers, etc.
- Develop and maintain the company sourcing and purchasing strategy including commodity management, vendor selection and evaluation, contract management, competitive sourcing, and material planning. Total annual spend is more than $250M.
- Drive engagement by building and developing a high-performance team that consistently delivers Supply Chain KPIs.
- Management of the inbound material planning group to ensure consistent material availability to meet manufacturing demand.
- Develop and maintain the policies and structure necessary to ensure optimum supply chain for achieving company goals and objectives.
- Lead ongoing efforts to achieve continuous improvement of the supply chain function through evaluation of new technologies and industry best practices.
- Oversight of both the finished goods and raw materials warehousing operations.
- Lead the demand planning and S&OP operations to ensure a high level of forecast accuracy for both the short and long term.
- In addition to management of the material planning team, the VP of SCM also finalizes and manages the production planning schedule as dictated by the demand plan.
- Lead a staff of 5-7 direct and 50-70 indirect reports across multiple facilities.

Education and/or Experience:
- Experience finalizing and managing the production planning schedule as dictated by the demand plan.
- Strategic & tactical skills with an ability to do a current state analysis of processes, procedures, staff, vendors, etc. to make recommendations / drive improvements / transformation for our supply chain, warehousing, & logistics (for truck & air as needed / all using Navision ERP).
- Experience leading the demand planning and S&OP operations to ensure a high level of forecast accuracy for both the short and long term.
- Experience with the oversight of both the finished goods and raw materials warehousing operations.
- Experience developing and maintaining company sourcing and purchasing strategy including commodity management, vendor selection and evaluation, contract management, competitive sourcing, and material planning. Total annual spend is more than $250M.
- 8-10+ years in supply chain management with 3-5+ years in Director/Senior Director level that includes:
- Experience leading ongoing efforts to achieve continuous improvement of the supply chain function through evaluation of new technologies and industry best practices. (Long term Kaizen, Lean, &/or Six Sigma might be beneficial. As would automation in our warehouse management: pick/packing, etc.)
- We are currently using two 3PLS to supplement our own distribution center & want to determine the best strategy for the future.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required
- Skill at leading a team (direct & indirect reports) with expertise in staff development.
- Experience in the management of the inbound material planning group to ensure consistent material availability to meet manufacturing demand.
- Accountability for management of all Supply Chain related budgets including procurement spend, PPV, 3rd party logistics, carriers, etc.
- Experience driving engagement by building and developing a high-performance team that consistently delivers Supply Chain KPIs.
- Master's degree a plus.
- Experience in the daily management and oversight of the customer service and outbound logistics group with an emphasis on quality service and cost management.
- Experience developing and maintaining the policies and structure necessary to ensure optimum supply chain for achieving company goals and objectives.
- Food manufacturing/products a big plus.
- Consumer packaged goods experience required.
- Products with an expiration date preferred.
- Experience driving the development of analytical tools and reports to effectively manage supply chain performance KPI's across the company.
Compensation depends on experience but is typically between $180-240K plus bonus (no equity).
