WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - temporarily confidential position -
We are looking for a motivational, innovative, and dynamic Head of Retail who offers experience successfully scaling retail businesses with an international presence through to maturity stages. With over 100 employees and 49 points of sale, our ideal Head of Retail will manage and expand our North American retail footprint, focusing on revenue, strategy, and client-centric concepts across our rapidly growing retail network. In this role, you will apply your vast knowledge of retail operations, client engagement models, and profitable track record of managing retail P&Ls to deliver top- and bottom-line performance. Because of your proven understanding of critical success factors for location dynamics and selection, you will be an invaluable player in opening 10+ new doors in top retail markets over the next few years. WHAT YOU BRING:
Leadership / Process & Procedures
- Create, improve, and implement communication channels between our global headquarters in France to share best practices and key nuances about our region; and between corporate and stores to ensure that all information is communicated promptly, consistently, and brand-appropriate.
- Provide inspiring and motivational leadership to field leaders and employees, aligning with our company’s values; identifying and developing top talent who can scale with the business for continued retention and succession
- Conduct regular store visits to gather feedback, assess current business practices, and work with store leadership teams to identify and implement improvements that drive results;

- Expand and implement training materials, policies, procedures, and programs to ensure employee growth, development, and compliance.
WHAT YOU DO:
Sales, Performance, & Operations / Store Expansion & Development
- Manage the negotiation of bids from all third parties, vendors, and service providers for all new store openings
- Establish relationships with real estate partners and landlords and ensure lease negotiations are appropriate and timely
- In partnership with the marketing team, establish strategy and execution of internal and external marketing efforts, including campaigns, events, and other innovative marketing efforts to successfully launch new retail locations.
- Analyze omnichannel market trends and CRM data to develop opening strategies and optimize markets
- Manage department store relationships to maximize awareness and profitable growth with external partners such as Bloomingdales and Hudson Bay Company
- Establish a strategy for achieving financial targets, liaising with the finance team to analyze P&Ls and make appropriate adjustments
- Manage the P&L and monthly and quarterly forecasting/budgets by door for all North American locations, closely monitoring and analyzing sales performance to ensure profitability and continued growth.
- Collaborate with CEO on retail expansion strategic vision, managing the end-to-end execution of new store openings, remodels, relocations, and closures
- Monitor all KPIs to identify areas of improvement or opportunities for growth; ensure profitability and continued growth of the retail stores through sound operational and inventory practices.
- Liaise with planning and merchandising teams to ensure appropriate inventory allocations for both existing and upcoming locations
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

- Full knowledge and understanding of a working P&L
- Ability to travel internationally 1-2 times per year
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels and across continents
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to successfully navigate competing priorities while maintaining high standards for quality
- Experience negotiating in real estate and vendor relations is ideal, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs
- Strong Analytical and critical thinking with a solution-oriented approach
- Ability to travel domestically approx. 40% of the year (strong field presence with team)
- 10+ years of experience in multi-unit retail leadership and new store openings
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop client-centric teams with a proven track record of succession and financial results
