VP of Operations

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

VP of Operations will be responsible for building a high-performing team in our growing organization. We are looking for an experienced operations executive who has generated significant impact through the strategic and tactical direction of both fulfillment centers and regional offices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building the entire operational strategy for our business, and be responsible for all operational execution, including Supply Chain, Logistics and Distribution, and will oversee our warehouses and 3PLs.

• Responsible for the administration of safety and health policies, programs and practices, leadership to the safety teams while ensuring compliance.
• Develop and utilize KPIs to measure performance against commitments. Actively assess and implement necessary changes to supply chain strategy and processes to support achievement of business objectives.
• Partners with Planning and Sourcing to ensure the design capacity infrastructure to support our shipping and receiving needs in our distribution centers.
• Spearhead negotiations on high value and strategic contracts and manage supplier relationship.
• Responsible for the compliance reduction of chargebacks.
• Responsible for improving supply chain metrics in terms of cost, quality and service aligned with strategic importance of customer and product.
• Stablish business plan, operating forecast, competitive analysis, and financial budgets for all functional areas of responsibility.
• Maintain a culture of fiscal responsibility and drive on-going cost saving initiatives.
• Partner with Division leaders to define and implement end-to-end global supply chain strategy.
• Create and sustain a high-performing team through recognizing and maximizing the skills of the professional staff and minimizing employee-initiated turnover.
• Set the strategic direction and oversee major projects across distribution centers, such as distribution center layout changes, equipment and space needs and utilization, capital expenses, major repairs, and evaluation of in-house verse outsource distribution.
• Oversee performance of all facilities and provide key metrics for On-Time shipping performance by division and ship points verse established metrics.
• Formulate and recommend policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the distribution facility.
• Drive culture of continuous improvement and accountability throughout the supply chain, operations and adjacent business functions.
• Oversee and coordinate security efforts across the company, including facilities management, compliance, safety.

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

Education:

• Engineering Degree

Experience:

• 10 – 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain distribution environment

Additional Skills:

• Experience working for a 3PL and/or managing 3PL relationships
• Exceptional communication skills, effective in all directions of the organization
• Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and implementation of continuous improvement practices
• Ability to travel
• Strong analytical and trend analysis skills
• Experience negotiating warehouse service agreements.
• Highly effective leadership style, excellent relationship building skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively communicate/manage across all levels of the organization
