Position: VP of Finance/Accounting (Real Estate Developer and PE Investment Company)
Location: Vineland, NJ (Hybrid with minimal travel)
Salary: $175,000-$250,000 (plus bonus) with potential for equity investment
Company Overview: John Evans Recruiting (www.jerecruit.com) is sourcing for a real estate development company headquartered in Vineland, NJ, for a highly skilled real estate industry VP of Finance/Accounting/M&A to join our team.
As a growing company, we specialize in real estate, hospitality, and private equity, and we are looking for a strategic leader who can guide our financial operations and support our future growth.
Requirements -
- Proven experience in leading day to day accounting and finance
- Expertise in Real Estate, Hospitality, Private Equity (Real estate or Direct Investment), or Family Office
- Ability to guide real estate transactions, foster success through capital raising/banking relationships, and guide efficiencies.
Role and Responsibilities:
As the VP of Finance/Accounting/Transaction, you will have ownership over a team of 10 professionals in corporate finance, accounting, and operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial strategy and managing key relationships with private equity firms, family offices, and banks. This position requires a hands-on approach to financial operations while also focusing on strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Develop and maintain relationships with private equity firms, family offices, and banking partners to support capital raising efforts and facilitate financial transactions.
- Drive the strategic financial planning process and provide recommendations to optimize business performance and profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective financial controls, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Play a key role in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, conducting due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation analysis.
- Contribute to the development of financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders, communicating financial performance, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
- Work closely with the CEO and other executives to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the finance and accounting function.
Qualifications:
- Experience with real estate development and investment is highly desirable.
- Experience in managing relationships with private equity firms, family offices, and banking partners.
- Significant experience in finance, accounting, and operations leadership roles, preferably within the real estate, hospitality, or private equity industries.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and transaction analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with a proven track record of driving financial performance and strategic decision-making.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $250,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, there will be a bonus structure based on individual and company performance. As a long-term opportunity, there is potential for equity investment as well.
