Vice President - Finance

Role: Vice President of Finance - SaaS Cybersecurity Startup

We are seeking an exceptional Vice President of Finance to join our fast-growing SaaS cybersecurity start-up at the Series B stage. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the company. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a high-growth organization in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity industry.

Responsibilities:

1.Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making, including pricing strategies, investment opportunities, and potential partnerships.
• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives and growth plans.
• Lead the financial planning and budgeting process, working closely with the executive team to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial targets.

2.Financial Operations and Reporting:

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and board-level presentations to provide visibility into the company's financial performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls and systems to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

3.Fundraising and Investor Relations:

• Prepare financial models, valuation analyses, and investment cases to attract potential investors and secure funding for the company's growth initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential investors, providing regular updates on financial performance and growth plans.
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop fundraising strategies and support fundraising activities, including investor presentations, due diligence, and negotiation of investment terms.

4.Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

• Provide insightful financial insights and recommendations to functional leaders to optimize resource allocation and drive operational efficiency.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support key business initiatives, such as pricing models, customer acquisition strategies, and product profitability assessments.
• Develop financial models and scenarios to evaluate the impact of various business decisions and drive data-driven recommendations.

5.Team Leadership and Development:

• Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, such as Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.
• Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in financial software and tools, as well as advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modelling applications.
• Strong knowledge of the cybersecurity industry, market dynamics, and emerging trends.
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Expertise in financial modelling, analysis, and valuation techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Proven experience as a financial leader in high-growth SaaS companies, ideally at the Series B stage.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive business results.
• Experience in fundraising, investor relations, and dealing with external stakeholders.
