Abrigo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our core product and platform capabilities. As the VP of Engineering, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing Abrigo’s technical vision, with a specific focus on data, analytics powered by ML/AI, APIs and extensibility, and identity management. You will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of scalable, efficient, and secure platforms that enable our customers to leverage the full potential of our data assets and deliver innovative solutions to our customers. This role will report to the CTO. This position will be remote or office based in Raleigh, NC or Austin, TX.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to build analytics and ML/AI capabilities that leverage the organization's data assets to drive business insights and decision-making.
• Data Management and Analytics:
  • Drive the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data management platforms (AWS, .), ensuring reliable data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to build analytics and ML/AI capabilities that leverage the organization's data assets to drive business insights and decision-making.
  • Establish robust data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, security, and compliance.

• Platform Development and Extensibility:
  • Oversee the architecture and development of the platform, ensuring scalability, modularity, and extensibility.
  • Drive the adoption and integration of OpenAI technologies, APIs, and third-party platforms to enhance the capabilities and interoperability of our systems.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, promoting the development and implementation of new platform features and functionalities.
• Define and implement identity and access management (IAM) strategies and solutions to ensure secure and controlled access to platform resources.
• Identity Management and Security:

  • Establish robust security protocols and practices to safeguard sensitive data and protect against potential threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with relevant security and privacy regulations.
• Drive the adoption and integration of OpenAI technologies, APIs, and third-party platforms to enhance the capabilities and interoperability of our systems.

• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations on technology trends and strategies related to platform engineering.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and business leaders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective platform engineering strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability between the platform and other systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations on technology trends and strategies related to platform engineering.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is a plus.
• Demonstrated track record of leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to align technical strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
• Experience with identity management systems, security protocols, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in platform engineering, data management, and analytics, with a focus on ML/AI, and APIs.
• Solid knowledge of platform architecture, microservices, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong understanding of data management concepts, data engineering, and analytics technologies, as well as experience with machine learning frameworks and techniques.
