Job Description

Company Description: Wincoram Asset Management is a Houston-based investment management firm that acquires and manages natural gas-weighted PDP assets for long-term profitability on behalf of multiple institutional investors. : The Upstream Commercial Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the asset portfolio’s financial performance. This individual will work with Wincoram management and external operating partners to ensure value maximization of all assets. The individual will be responsible for developing data-driven business strategies to achieve the company's operational objectives, identify and manage risks, performance issues, and controls related to the Company’s assets. The individual will also be responsible for identifying and implementing: 1) revenue delivery and optimization opportunities and 2) strategic cost optimization opportunities. The successful candidate will be expected to have a deep understanding of the oil and gas exploration and production industry including the key drivers of commercial value generation. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the building of a multi-billion dollar, natural gas-focused, PDP investment and operating platform across multiple Lower 48 basins.


Responsibilities:

Business Planning

  • Develop inventory of extraneous commercial opportunities within the assets.
  • Ensure commercial and financial performance of each asset relative to investment case and budget.
  • Monitor changing business environment to ensure agenda is meeting business needs. Implement decisions and actions required to address gaps/opportunities.
  • Prepare data-driven presentations and other forms of communication to clearly communicate prioritization discussions.
  • Provide due diligence support as required for bolt-on and new basin entry acquisition opportunities.
  • Regularly assess performance against expected results. Implement countermeasures to close gaps or take advantage of opportunities.
  • Lead commercial review discussions.
  • Analyze/understand North American supply/demand balances and fundamental market conditions for natural gas and NGLs to develop commercial strategies.

Midstream & Marketing

  • Provides input into acquisition and divestiture decisions which may involve substantial analysis of multiple scenarios of price, volume, financing and logistic alternatives.
  • Oversee natural gas, NGL and condensate sales including implementing opportunities to increase the value of those sales.
  • Manages all gas gathering and processing contract negotiations / renegotiatons, the enforcement of gathering and processing contract terms and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the company and industry.
  • Monitor basin supply & demand dynamics to identify incremental hedging opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting, reviews and approve monthly net realized price (accrual and final) for hydrocarbon sales including volume and revenue recognition process. Monitor actual Netback pricing versus Contract terms. Determine variance drivers versus the investment case.

Strategic Cost Management

  • Partner with third parties as necessary to implement cost reduction strategies (i.e. produced water management).
  • Partner with Asset Management team to implement cost improvement projects – capitalize on synergies across the asset portfolio, including supply chain.

Production Management

  • Provide technical, operational and commercial support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Wincoram technical/operations team and operating partners to drive overall asset performance.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of relevant oil and gas industry software packages (e.g. Spotfire, ARIES, DrillingInfo/Enverus, GIS).
  • Knowledge of business case and contract development related to both revenue-driving and expense-saving benefits.
  • Experience in oil & gas value chain required (production operations, supply chain, midstream or marketing).
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, spreadsheet and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of the physical flow of natural gas and liquids from the wellhead through the processing plant and to the downstream market.
  • 10 – 15 years professional experience in the upstream oil & gas industry, preferably with an oil & gas operator.
  • Engineering or Geoscience degree required.
