Job Description
Summary

Our Training Manager is an integral part of our L&D team and ensures that our learning initiatives are relevant, current, and highly accessible to our nationwide workforce of over 1,000 employees. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, enjoys innovation and has success implementing new solutions to keep L&D training programs engaging and practical.


Essential Functions


  • Resolving any specific problems and tailoring training programs as necessary
  • Conducting orientation programs and arranging on-the-job training for new hires
  • Researching new training supplies and materials that can enhance a firm’s training procedures while providing value to employees
  • Communicating with management, trainers and team members to ensure that all needs are met
  • Setting up executive or leadership development programs for lower-level employees
  • Leading programs to assist employees with transitions due to technological changes, acquisitions and mergers
  • Identifying future training needs and creating a curriculum to facilitate that training
  • Searching for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety among staff


Day in the Life


Grab a hot drink and settle down after greeting coworkers to start your day. Email is first and the requests received in various training emails mainly include:


  • Human Resources inquiring about pending training hours for departing employees.
  • Employees seeking assistance with training courses,
  • Managers requesting additional training to be added to selected employees or asking for status reports for their teams,
  • New hires that are being onboarded at the stations and needed the creation of a training profile in our learning management system,


After adjusting any priorities from the previous workday, you will dedicate time to content creation or improvements on existing training. What is working, what needs to be reviewed, how are the results?


After lunch, you dedicate most of your time to reviewing and updating training records in the LMS. Pull reports to ensure management is aware of compliance status and any challenge areas.


Often, you will spend some time in the operation, visiting airline accounts, talking to the team and the leadership as well as getting information and updates from the customer airline directly regarding changes in procedures or services. This will likely be the favorite part of your day!


Requirements


  • 5 years minimum experience in a Training role with LMS


Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communication or related discipline or commensurate experience


  • Advanced record-keeping skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively
  • Advanced database and computer skills
