POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is part of the Clean Products West Division – Direct Dealer Operations and reports to the Licensed Brands, Sales Manager. The Territory Manager is responsible for managing a licensed brand portfolio of branded gasoline stations in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County area. The Territory Manager provides gas station Dealers coaching, advising, and support with brand standards, fuel sales, marketing, supply, financial reporting, and operational performance.
This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Relocation is not offered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optimizes the portfolio of business by actively managing accounts, focusing on growing volume for licensed brand products, while executing strategic direction of the Territory.
- Provides market intelligence to benefit internal business partners including information that impacts daily pricing decisions, fuel audits, competitive pricing trends, outages, terminal/transportation problems, supply conditions, forecast adjustments and any other business-related items.
- Works collaboratively to resolve discrepancies and/or disagreements regarding brand representation, operating processes, and procedures. Understands, reviews, and explains contracts to operators / retailers, as required. Works to maintain dealer loyalty.
- Maintains a broad understanding of industry issues, government regulation, economic conditions, business outlooks, commercial and consumer needs, and competitive brand strengths and weaknesses by market.
- Evaluates market dynamics and niches seeking profit opportunities with new and existing customers through branded programs and contracts to enhance the company’s overall corporate profitability.
- Presents, negotiates, implements, and manages branded supply contracts to optimize value contribution.
- Establishes responsive customer relationships, communicating critical business issues, resolving day-to-day problems, and updating customers on industry issues, market conditions and transportation, branded services, site systems and policies, to enhance the company’s position as a preferred supplier. Conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings with internal and external customers.
- Builds respected and trusting business relationships with Dealers to maximize growth and profitability. Understands and coaches Dealers on the value and use of performance indicators and financial statements to monitor and improve site performance.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- This position will experience 5-10% travel.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, or other business-related function is required.
- Five (5) years of retail or sales experience is required, 8 to 10 years of commercial experience particularly in the Marketing, Supply, or Supply Chain organizations is preferred.
