Job Description

As the DEFY Territory Sales Manager you will be responsible for developing and maintaining target accounts while also driving new business. This is a critical role to our business and is well suited for someone who enjoys working with Distributors, selling products to retail customers, cultivating relationships, and driving top-line revenue growth! This role reports to the Senior Director of Distribution and will be based in the Houston, TX market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Operations Team to insure fulfillment of purchase orders.
  • Selling and merchandising multiple product lines for in store displays, cold space, and shelf position. This will include maintaining existing space and seeking to gain new space for increasing sales.
  • Conducting annual sales and account/planning, forecasting, reporting, management efforts for the assigned accounts within his / her sales territory
  • Driving new account acquisition & business conversion to achieve the annual top-line revenue goals for assigned sales territory. This is achieved by working hand in hand with Distributor Partners and working independently calling on a variety of Retail Accounts which include on and off premise locations.
  • Build share of mind with Distributor Partners through Team Selling, Goal Assignment, Sales Incentives, Presenting at General Sales Meetings and vigorous follow up to insure goal attainment and KPI achievement.
  • Will do Sampling in Store/On Site to help drive consumer trial and build awareness.

Sales skills that will lead you to success:

  • Ability to identify and pursue sales opportunities through the acquisition of new customers as well as managing existing business with current customers.
  • Aptitude to problem solve and work with multiple stakeholders in a highly competitive environment.
  • Self-directed, highly organized, customer-focused, detail oriented, and competitive
  • Working daily with Distributor Partners in the field, conducting sales calls, merchandising, completing store surveys to identify opportunities and close gaps.
  • Exceptional time management, task prioritization, organization, and follow-up
  • Ability to overcome objections and find sales-based solutions

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a positive sales history with aminimum of 2+years of selling consumer packaged goods in a retail environment. Preferably Beverages

  • Hours are primarily 8:30am-4:30pm M-F however there are some weekends required for Retail Sampling and Selling Tradeshows held throughout the year.
  • Need to be able to make 8-10 Sales Calls per day
  • Proven experience in new business selling, and upselling
  • Ability to speak in public and addressing groups (example: presenting to Distributor Sales Force)
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs
  • Bi-Lingual is a Plus
  • Clean driving record
  • Able to provide a written recap of in market activities and meeting recaps
  • Ability to travel in order to do business
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of beverage distribution network
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • 2- 5 years of sales experience

Territory: Successful candidates must live within the Austin,TX Metropolitan area. May require travel to other parts of Texas as needed.
