Field Service Technician II (Trouble-shooting Radio devices)

Location: 36th Street Long Island City NY 11101

Department Function: Service Customer Radio equipment and IP network equipment for Post sales.

Required Job Duties:

• Performs preventative maintenance. Provide operation/maintenance instructions to customer personnel.
• Performs field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing products at customer sites. Replaces defective units/components as appropriate.
• Assists in the conduct of equipment/system acceptance testing following established procedures.
• Specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
• Work with customers via phone to identify operation/technical problems.
• General supervision and instructions are given for routine work and detailed instructions are given for new activities or special assignments.

Top Requirements:

• Radio - troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Electronics training is equivalent to two years of technical trade or military school and 2 years of field service or technical experience.
• Valid NY driver’s license - This resource will drive an MSI vehicle. Motorola will run the MVR check for this hire
• Must pass a drug screen - This role is a driving position and will require a full drug screen.
• Electronic experience - troubleshooting electronic devices - such as PC, servers (Redhat),
• Maintaining network- troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Familiarity with computer networks connectivity

Main Responsibilities:

• Work on 2-way radio equipment and IP network equipment - switches and routers
• Go on calls to customer sites to service their equipment
