Department Overview
Motorola Solutions’ innovations, products and services play essential roles in people’s lives. Our end-to-end suite of software solutions helps our customers answer thousands of emergency calls and text messages, and process video, disparate evidence and records. We are also proud to be industry leaders in video security solutions installed in more than 120 countries at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers. Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation.
Responsibilities
- Build project plans and manage technology programs, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.
- Work closely with engineers and product management to translate business requirements into technical/functional specifications for our firmware, software, and AI teams
- Conduct cross-team project retrospectives to surface improvements to maintain or improve our delivery of machine learning features.
- Partner with engineering to investigate, deconstruct, and estimate (t-shirt size) large, unknown areas of work
- Clarify ambiguities along the road, drive engineering project execution and track and report on status. Initiate technical deep dives and/or organize working sessions to resolve blocking issues and mitigate risks.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline. 6+ years of experience in the software, firmware, or machine learning/research industry, taking a product through its complete lifecycle.
- Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical members.
- Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Track record of successfully delivering complete systems (firmware, software, algorithms) on time, to scope, with high quality.
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Desired Qualifications
- Superb communication skills, including both written and verbal. You will own key documents for the team that will be shared with partner teams and senior leadership. Previous experience in a customer-facing or technical consulting role is a plus.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and problem solving
- Technical knowledge of Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience driving multiple products through a complete lifecycle
