The Strategy & Analytics team within US Strategic Insights & Prioritization acts as internal strategy consultants, providing thought leadership and actionable insights to support major Menu, Marketing, and other strategic growth initiatives, such as Digital and Delivery. We use a combination of consumer, competitor, and internal data to understand and communicate industry trends as well as our own performance to our key partners. We generate insights to find opportunities to optimize our initiatives and we help bring both tactical and long-term strategies to life across our network of over 14,000 US restaurants.
Position description
The Strategy & Analytics team guides and supports growth-oriented priorities. This includes defining the 3-year and 1-year strategies for the US business, identifying sources of future growth, developing financial ambitions and ongoing projections, creating new insights-based capabilities, and providing business performance analysis.
In the US Strategy Manager role, you will contribute to these priorities through some of the following ways:
- Drive development of US competitive intelligence capabilities, outlining industry outlook and strategic opportunities
- Support and elevate strategic capabilities at McDonald's by leading and shaping overall US strategic priorities
- Develop executive-level communications regarding the performance and outlook of the US business
- Lead special projects initiated by the US Senior Leadership Team
- Coordinate with US Senior Leadership Team and Director of Strategy to own annual strategy-setting processes
- Strong communicator (oral and written): Can take complex topics and develop clear narratives that can be catered to different audiences
- Intellectually curious: Interested in digging into questions and problems affecting the business to identify insights that will drive growth and business improvement
- Influential: Able to engage with others, within teams, across functions, and across levels to drive collaboration
- Collaborative: Able to work with others within the same team, and on different teams, to drive results
- Inclusive: Open to others’ points of view and able to collaborate with others across differences
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills: Can solve complex problems using business trend analysis, general data analysis, and evaluation of initiatives
- Strategic mindset: Able to take large, opaque questions and use business knowledge, logic, and an organized approach to drive creative solutions
Basic Requirements
- Operates effectively in a team-based environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to establish and meet deadlines while prioritizing workload
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
- 2-5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or insights setting
- Proven communication skills with experience effectively presenting and communicating to various levels of leadership
- Bachelor'sDegree in Business or Marketing preferred
- Experience leading large cross-functional teams and mentoring junior members of the team
