Job Summary

SurePoint Technologies is seeking an innovative, talented, and experienced Technical Support person to join our team. This role is customer facing, but also responsible for the critical backup and support role. Hours for this position are 11AM-8PM eastern to support our West Coast clients. This role is mostly work from home, however local residency is required in the Cincinnati metropolitan area to fulfill backup and recovery functions. Must be willing to travel to our data centers multiple times a week for tape rotation and other duties as assigned. Must be able to analyze various customer problems and provide a high level of customer support and follow-through, owning issues from beginning to end.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Actively participate in triage meetings to share knowledge with Clients and Team members to resolve solutions in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Group Policy
• Work with various Web Server technologies such as Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server
• Use, knowledge, and support of VMware Horizon Virtualization Software
• Effective management of ticketing system, including creation, escalation, and resolution
• Proficient understanding of LAN/WAN environments and all associated protocols, such as TCP/IP. Remote Printing Connectivity via TCP/IP and Troubleshooting; iSeries knowledge or willingness to learn a plus.
• Experience in SQL connectivity support, including setup of ODBC connections to enterprise database servers.
• Ability to complete preliminary network/system analysis and issue isolation.
• Strong critical thinking skills with experience troubleshooting internet connectivity, digital phone, and wireless equipment.
• Ability to promptly answer support related calls, emails, and other electronic communications.
• Knowledge of Windows file and Print Sharing including mapped drives
• Excellent reasoning ability - must have the ability to solve practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited knowledge exists.
• Experience with backup and recovery software and tape management; AS/400 or iSeries backup management a plus.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• 3+ Years’ experience supporting large scale software packages.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work 11AM to 8PM eastern time to support West Coast clients.
• Willingness to drive within the Cincinnati area multiple times a week to rotate tapes (requires local residency)
• Associate degree in computer or engineering field, or related level of experience.
• Ability to learn new Technologies as needed.
• Ability to drive your own vehicle for tape rotation duties (mileage reimbursement provided)

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with Cybernetics hardware and software.
• Previous AS/400 or iSeries experience, especially with backups.
