Job Description
ASRC Federal is expanding our US Department of Agricultural portfolio and has opportunities nationwide. Experience with government contracting, specifically in the area of "rural development" is strongly desired. ASRC Federal is seeking a GIS Analyst II to join our team.
Responsibilities:
  • Creating and maintaining shapefiles, layers, and geodatabases.
  • Maintains the accuracy of geospatial data.
  • Transposes data from source documents to GIS format.
  • Imports data into mapping software such as ArcGIS and analyzes the information to create digital maps.
  • Uploading, updating, and managing data in USDA cultural resources databases.
  • Preparing maps for a variety of purposes such as fieldwork, emergency response, compliance reports and for public displays.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with Master’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science or Computer Science
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing python scripts for geoprocessing.
  • Experience developing ArcGIS Server services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting USDA and/or rural development
  • Experience supporting government contracts or federal work experience
  • Be able to travel if necessary
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to geospatial data, such as data privacy laws, data sharing agreements, and licensing agreements.
