System Administrator - Entry Level

Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment team as an F-22 IMIS System Administrator at our Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska facility.
A Day in the Life: As an Integrated Maintenance Information Systems (IMIS) Administrator with our F-22 IMIS team partnering with our customer, you will be trained to wear many hats; system administrator duties, data management duties, network administrator duties and mission planning admin duties. IMIS Administrators are generally the first point of contact for customer inquiries, field any questions and/or concerns and troubleshoot any reported problems. You will be assigned tasks in most IMIS administrative roles to further develop your skills and increase your capabilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Installing system-wide software, allocating mass storage space
• Backups, restores, and disaster recovery of systems/databases/network equipment
• Maintaining smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with peers and engineers
• System/software/firewall/account maintenance and monitoring
• Primary customer point of contact for technical support for Unix, Linux, Microsoft, Proprietary, and Commercial off the shelf (COTS) products
• Laptop re-image, troubleshooting, account maintenance
• Reviewing processes/procedures, collect system operational data for analysis
• Coordinating extranet equipment installations with enterprise and local communications facilities

As critical members of the F-22 Field Operations Team, all IMIS administrators must be able to:

• Must be able to obtain the CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of hire date.
• Capable of working various rotating shift hours to include weekends to support customer mission requirements.
• Obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance required for program access

This work may be on a standard work day schedule or on-call based on the needs of each base/operating location.
Travel will be expected for deployments for standard exercises but may also include worldwide deployments.
Member must be world-wide deployable per US Air Force guidance:

• Work hours consisting of more than 8 hours and extended shifts, both when deployed or participating in exercises
• Medical, Dental, Immunization, International Assignment Medical Assessment, Fitness for Duty required when traveling to international locations.
• Will be required to lift 50 lbs.
• Agree to and accept required vaccinations as required by military officials in support of deployments, base access, and destination requirements.
• Shall meet training requirements equivalent to military members prior to deployments and training exercises.
• Shall maintain medical and physical fitness sufficient to endure rigors of deployment in support of a military operation in an austere location.
• Capable of wearing of Mission-Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) gear and Individual Protective Equipment (IPE-such a helmet, flak vest, etc.) when directed during deployment exercises.

• Must be a United States citizen. Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

• Microsoft Office experience
• IT system administration experience. Will accept Information Technology or Cyber security related education in lieu of experience.

Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from other candidates:

• Experience with IPSec configuration
• Linux or Unix System Administration experience
• Use of Log Aggregation and Dashboard
• Installing Oracle Critical Patches, reviewing tables and DBA views for issues, and locating user session data
• Managing large Oracle and SQL Server database instances
• Maintaining/upgrading system hardware and startup/shutdown of rack components
• CompTIA A+ and/or Network+, or CompTIA Security+ certification
• Active/Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Account Maintenance with Active Lightweight Directory Access Protocol
• Disaster recovery: backups and restores of physical servers, virtual machines, databases, and network equipment
• Experience Troubleshooting Web Applications
• Experience applying updates, anti-virus/anti-spyware updates, and patch updates

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
