AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Engineer to be based in Austin, TX.

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our Florida Water Team. This position can be based out of any of our Florida offices and will include the opportunity to work on projects located across the state. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of water, wastewater, and storm management projects under the guidance of senior engineers, designers, technical specialists, and project managers.

This position is expected to begin in August 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervisions of an experienced engineer.
• This position will be responsible for assisting with the planning, design, and construction phases of water and wastewater projects in Central Texas.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision of an experience engineer.
• Builds analytical and design skills in the fields of water and wastewater treatment, pumping, water transmission, and wastewater collection projects.
• Prepares technical memoranda, planning studies and final design calculations, plans and specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Performs shop drawing reviews and assists with the construction administration of projects and monitoring of construction progress under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college with focus on water and wastewater treatment and hydraulics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior engineering and/or construction experience a plus
• Hydraulic modeling software experience a plus
• Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
• Experience in design of water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and/or hydraulic modeling a plus
• EIT certification
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well in teams
