Strategic Sourcing Director | Manufacturing | Direct Materials Procurement

Based in Sunnyvale, this growing company manufactures high value items and due to a recent PE firm investment, they are going through significant growth and improvement. The current state of Sourcing is heavily transactional and they need a strategic leader to drive the strategy and vision for their Procurement/Sourcing. This person will be empowered to define their sourcing strategy through a data-driven, holistic approach that takes into account long-term growth and priority suppliers.

In This Role, You Will: transform a transactional procurement processes into a strategic approach by conducting detailed spend analysis, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing optimized purchasing strategies, including:

• Build a two-year sourcing strategy with a quarterly focus on optimizing each category
• Define KPIs, develop scorecards, and develop 60-day purchasing forecasts
• Develop the sourcing team through key hires and team leadership
• Evaluate the current state through analyzing their high-value categories to understand the allocation of their current $80M spend
• Establish sourcing calendar, execute strategic sourcing events, develop strategic/prioritized suppliers, and move away from transactional approach
• Participate in the implementation of Epicor
• Set inventory maxes and minimums, MOQ’s

What You’ll Need to Be Successful: Proven ability as a strategic sourcing leader who knows the best practices to building an optimized sourcing department, including:

• People leadership (building/mentoring a team)
• ERP experience, data-driven approach to sourcing
• Strong direct materials sourcing experience in manufacturing
• Been fully responsible for least one entire category, if not multiple
• Ability to be onsite (Sunnyvale, TX) + travel ~10%
• Experience in a mature manufacturing environment with established processes where managing procurement costs is critical to the bottom-line
• Experience managing $50M+ in spend

Plus Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Epicor experience
• Consulting experience in Sourcing (assessing spend, breaking down big budgets, tackling categories for clients)
• Bilingual Spanish/English
