This position is responsible for creating and executing against a contracting & sourcing strategy for Medical Equipment and Services. This includes management of day-to-day contracting activities such as drafting and negotiating contracts, monitoring contract performance, developing, evaluating managing vendor relationships and options, building relationships with stakeholders across Tenet to engage and implement contracts with end users. This position works with the legal department according to defined processes and procedures. The position manages both GPO and local contracts. In addition, MGR, STRATEGIC SOURCING is responsible for conducting benchmarking activities, reviewing industry best practice and deep collaboration with stakeholders to achieve cost savings, increase quality, and build and maintain a competitive contracting portfolio for Medical Equipment and Services. The process of managing contracts for the assigned Medical Equipment and Services should at all times be aligned with the vision for the future of Supply Chain, namely, sourcing the best quality products and services at the best price, treating customers with service orientation and focusing on supply chain excellence internally.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in any health or business area is required. A Master’s degree in any health or business- related area is preferred. Sourcing and contracting experience in Medical Equipment and Services is preferred. At least 3-5 years of relevant and proven work experience in Healthcare, Finance, or Supply Chain. The role requires a deep understanding of Supply Chain functions, including, but not limited to, knowledge of GPO and local contract sourcing as well as related procedures pertaining to contracting strategies and contract management for Medical Equipment and Services. Knowledge of strategic sourcing including analyzing spend, benchmarking, reviewing industry best practice and achieving cost reduction whilst maintaining or improving quality. Supply chain experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Skills:
- Supports demand planning and forecasting
- Ability to maintain internal customer and supplier relationships to ensure successful contract implementation and operational effectiveness
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams (e.g. value analysis teams and administration support staff)
- Ability to support the identification and implementation of cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives / projects across capital expenditure (e.g. pricing, standardization and utilization)
- Ability to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Ability to execute against a sourcing strategy for capital expenditures with minimal supervision in line with Tenet Supply Chain’s strategic vision of sourcing the best quality products at the best price, treating customers with service orientation and focusing on supply chain excellence internally
- Contract drafting, negotiation and management skills for both GPO and local contracts as well as managing the RFP process
- Relationship building, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Supports asset management
- Ability to support and enable sourcing/contracting decisions for capital expenditure through data analysis (e.g., by referencing benchmarking, industry/market analysis, buy vs. lease analysis, total cost of ownership reviews and spend analysis)
