About the role:


We are seeking an experienced Strategic Maintenance Manager, with an analytic skill set, to join our Property Services team to focus on optimizing for scale, profitability, and technical aptitude. The person in this role will directly oversee a team of in-house technicians and portfolio associates who are responsible for all self-performed service requests and resident turnover work, as well as field-based property management tasks. The Strategic Maintenance Manager will also focus on providing positive customer experiences for our property owners and residents. Applicants must show a strong history of growing and developing teams, utilizing data to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency, and collaboration with senior management and executive leadership to achieve key results.


Location: This position is classified as onsite and our ideal candidate will reside in Northern California or Bay Area.


Responsibilities:


  • High profile escalation management
  • Oversight of monthly safety meetings
  • POC for all Fleet Management related duties for our company vans and insurance renewals
  • Drive performance and accountability against operating plans and KPIs
  • Provide maintenance related technical support to team
  • Monitor and report on billable hours weekly
  • Hire, mentor, coach and develop resources to achieve scale and optimal performance
  • Utilize analytics, reporting, and technology to improve operational effectiveness is critical
  • Payroll processing, expense report reconciliation approval, service request review & approval
  • Management of third party vendor relationships to optimize market performance
  • Manage a team of self-performing Maintenance Technicians and Portfolio Associates, overseeing safety & injury protocol
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally in a team environment
  • Focus on delivering a positive customer experience while improving operational efficiency as evidenced by work completion times and effective cost management (labor & material)


Qualifications:


  • Local market knowledge including maintenance vendor relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication to work successfully with a range of stakeholders including regional employees, field staff, office staff, executive leadership, and external customers
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Tech savvy
  • Excellent planning, organization, delivery skills and comfortable in high pressure situations
  • 10+ years experience with residential or commercial Repairs & Maintenance field operations
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and startup environment
  • Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate deals and an understanding of fair and optimal pricing structures
  • 5+ years of experience leading, developing, and growing teams

Compensation:


$93,500 - $110,000 annually. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for a bonus based upon achievement of performance objectives.
