Job Description

Position: STATEMENT ANALYST

Department: Supplier Payment Review (SPR)

Reports to: Vice President, SPR

Environment: Drug-Free Workplace

Location: 9 Greenway Plaza, Houston, TX 77046

Schedule: Hybrid (In Office 2-3 days per week)


Position Summary: Examination and audit of the accounts payable department of large energy/utility clients. The objective is to review records and processes of the client to identify and recover losses resulting from overpayments or credits not being taken. Revenue is generated by the compilation of well-documented claims analysis that is presented to the clients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Vendor Statement Phone Solicitation

  • Locate/acquire appropriate contact name and number for A/R representative of client’s suppliers identified as high priority
  • Initiate contact with A/R representative via phone to obtain statement of account and/or other documentation related to the audit
  • Convey sense of urgency to A/R representative and ensure quick turnaround time on request
  • Assist auditors by placing follow-up calls to A/R representatives to answer questions or verify data related to statement review


Vendor Statement Process Administration

  • Maintain detail records in MS Access of all communication with A/R representatives
  • Update/correct address information via Internet research for vendor mail outs
  • Track results of work and provide daily scorecard report to the audit manager


Personal Characteristics Required:

  • Ability to manage outbound and inbound calls, emails, faxes, and dashboard on timely basis
  • Self-motivated

Education/Experience:

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables preferred
  • Previous collections, third party calling, outbound calling, or phone solicitation experience desirable
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with MS Access & MS Excel


Computer Skills:

Proficiency in the following software: Word processing (Microsoft Word), Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), Database (Microsoft Access), Internet software, E-mail software.
