As a Business Data Analyst, you will be at the forefront of our data-centric initiatives, playing a vital role in shaping business strategies.

Responsibilities:

• SQL Server & T-SQL Expertise: Utilize your strong command of SQL Server and T-SQL to analyze and manipulate data effectively. You will play a key role in data extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
• Quality Assurance & Data Integrity: Implement robust data quality assurance processes, conducting data validation and reconciliation to maintain the highest level of data accuracy and integrity.
• Agile Development Champion: Participate in Agile development processes, contributing your analytical skills to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint planning. Your inputs will help prioritize data-related initiatives and align them with business objectives.
• Data Architecture & Integration Mastery: Collaborate with IT and business teams to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of reporting platform data architecture and ETL processes. Leverage your expertise in data integration to facilitate seamless and efficient data flows across reporting systems.
• Business Insights & Reporting: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, generating clear and insightful reports and dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Relational Database Design: Demonstrate proficiency in relational database design and structures, ensuring data models align with business needs and adhere to industry best practices.
• Process Documentation & Optimization: Take ownership of documenting reporting and ETL/ELT integration processes. Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, driving efficiency gains and reducing time-to-insight.
• Data Analysis & Mapping: Perform in-depth data analysis, translating business requirements into comprehensive data mappings. Your insights will enable accurate and insightful reporting.
• Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis and reporting. Champion innovative ideas to enhance data analysis capabilities and business outcomes.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Hybrid position - work part of the week at client’s Houston, TX area office.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional data analysis and mapping skills, translating complex requirements into actionable insights.
• Sound understanding of relational database design and structures.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Business Data Analyst in the banking and financial services industry.
• Proficiency in documenting reporting and ETL/ELT integration processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data architecture for reporting platforms and ETL processes.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL for data analysis and integration.
• Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
