ICF is seeking a Business Analyst for our Growth, Engagement, and Insights group. In this role, you work with product managers, technical architects, developers, and clients to help define and organize business requirements for our quantitative data processing, reporting, and customer insights platform for products supporting both traditional utility energy efficiency programs and new clean energy programs. This involves interviewing stakeholders to help refine and maintain requirements and keeping product documentation current. Product documentation includes data mapping spreadsheets, product feature documentation, and configuration information for client implementations. There will be a primary focus on projects that support our energy efficiency marketing projects and team-wide agile ceremonies.
This is a role for someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and really dive into the details. Successful candidates will be resourceful, self-motivated, and possess exceptional attention to detail. The work requires a true team player who is excited to work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be comfortable working on a software product development team following a scrum development methodology. Candidates should appreciate a collaborative environment but be highly independent and driven to follow-up on tasks without prompting. Our software solution is quantitative and analytical so a desire and experience to work on nuanced and complex subject material is a must.

What you will be doing:
  • Create stories and tasks in JIRA to support the execution of client deliverables
  • Work with and assist QA team to develop and implement test cases and acceptance criteria for releases
  • Support agile SCRUM ceremonies, including daily stand-up, backlog grooming, sprint prioritization, and sprint kick offs.
  • Assist project delivery through task tracking and project management using project management tools
  • Provide stakeholders training and one-on-one technical assistance
  • Ensure proper execution of operations work and dev-ops work (enhancements to current products)
  • Generate requirement specifications, use cases, process flow diagrams, and other system documentation into concise and specific language to facilitate stakeholder understanding
  • Develop an understanding of the operational processes and procedures and take initiative on process improvements
  • Support marketing teams with customer analytics and customer targeting efforts
  • Support meetings with stakeholders and help prepare functional requirements documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories


What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
  • High School Diploma and 6+ Years of relevant work experience AND
  • 1+ years experience prioritizing multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and time sensitive assignments and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative subject (math, engineering, science, etc.) and 2+ years of relevant work experience OR


What we would like you to have:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
  • Knowledge and experience with Smartsheet, JIRA and/or Confluence
  • Prior experience working in an agile software development process
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Prior experience with gathering software requirements, or similar
  • Proven ability to develop system documentation to track issues and to work with developers to ensure that requirements are being met
  • Extremely well-organized with a high appreciation for details
  • Experience defining and documenting business processes and software requirements in an agile software development process
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in MS Office products

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$56,467.00 - $95,993.00
