The Business Analyst is a key member of the Studio Distribution Technical Operations organization. The role engages with stakeholders across the Film, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE), Digital Distribution, and Global TV Distribution businesses. This position act as a liaison between business partners and technology teams, supporting the solution delivery lifecycle for the Enterprise Release Management platform.


  • Collaborate with enterprise product teams to implement companywide technology initiatives and ensure that solutions adopt best practices and align to strategic goals
  • Lead technology development projects across the platform portfolio, partnering with business, enterprise product, and engineering teams through all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Act as subject matter expert across all Studio Distribution release management systems and serve as the point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned
  • Be the change agent and knowledge keeper to support the successful business adoption of new technology solutions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Theatrical and Studio Distribution teams. Learn and understand their release management business processes and perform analysis of data dependencies and workflows to support decision making for technology solutions
  • Manage the Enterprise Release Management technology and platform roadmaps, incorporating the prioritization and execution of new business needs and ensuring that it meets their goals and objectives
  • Provide frequent updates to leadership team on technical and business solution implementation


Qualifications


  • 2+ years in application development and SDLC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - comfortable and confident communicating to all levels of the organization, both business and IT
  • Must be willing to work in the Universal City office
  • Experience leading the business discussions and documenting business requirements and needs
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of client facing and business systems analysis experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Jira and Smartsheet
  • Has worked within a project team over multiple geographic / international locations
  • Experience with Salesforce.com platform
  • Experience with Media/Entertainment


This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
