Process Engineer Jobs

Description/Job Summary

• Reports directly to Production Manager.

SAFETY

• Support and enforce all Plant and Section Safety Plans and rules.
• Responsible for the safe operation of all production equipment under his/her supervision.
• Insure all employees are properly trained in the safe and proper way to perform their assigned jobs.

QUALITY

• Insure all forms and documents are current and up to date.
• Insure that all quality issues are resolved quickly and effectively, to minimize negative impact on machine and material efficiency.
• Insure that production lines are consistently following established quality guidelines to produce a product that meets fitness for use criteria.
• Insure that all phases of the process are closely monitored for quality issues.

PRODUCTIVITY

• Maintain records and data for analysis of cost, productivity, yield and scrap usage and report to upper management daily.
• Monitor the manufacturing process and adjust SOP as needed
• Troubleshoot production lines and minimize machine downtime
• Work with Technical Engineer in trial runs to study resin properties, effect of parameters etc. as needed
• Process optimization
• This position requires frequent "On-Call" status.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Review all standard operating procedures to ensure that they are actually necessary to the process in that specific area.
• Interaction with TX Material Control: Ensure availability of raw materials for EWO's
• Caution operators about safety concerns in their respective work areas.
• Communicate and work with operators concerning the problems that they are experiencing with the line, and help resolve these issues to make their jobs more productive.
• Writing abnormal follow-up reports when necessary.
• Follow up on all process and quality issues which occur on the line, and help to resolve these issues by communicating with downstream process.
• Respond to technical issues occurring outside normal working hours (including coming into the plant if required or necessary.)
• Interaction with NJ/TX Scheduling: Ensure smooth product mix / optimization uptime and output.
• Support Customer Complaint program: Attend meetings, help investigate and determine root cause, implement corrective action, ensure improvements are maintained.
• Investigate any Quality, Uptime, and/or Yield issues which keep section from achieving its objectives. Identify Root Cause, recommend / implement solutions.
• Comply with Plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
• Writing troubleshooting manuals and updates as required.

Required Skills

• Basic PC skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years in a related plastics processing industry.

Required Education

• B.S., Chemical Engineering or minimum 4 years experience in Related field.

Preferred Education

• Master degree in a related field.

Required Qualifications

• Strong technical background, and solid process experience on cast film products or related area.
