Position Summary:


The Sr Director Supply Chain - Americas is responsible for all activities related to Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Facilities & Engineering in the respective region. Leads employees and operations of multi-site (20+) regional internal and external manufacturing representing over $1B in revenue.


Responsibilities:


  • Drive and execute operational excellence practices throughout Operations
  • Represent Operations to sales and customers
  • Lead the quarterly divisional planning review sessions and represent Product Supply as single point of accountability within the business unit
  • Lead Divisional Operations team and resource allocation
  • Lead Financial Forecast process for Regional Manufacturing
  • Execute people leadership in accordance with the company’s Values and develops the organization
  • Lead and Manage Sales and Operations Planning resources (Demand Planning, Operations planning, Deployment, and Scheduling)
  • Set agenda for key operational activities
  • Responsible for all activities related to Manufacturing, Tolling, QC, Supply Chain, Process and Maintenance, Facilities & Engineering in the respective region
  • Responsible for OpEx and CapEx to maintain and improve operations in the region, review and prioritize operations investments and corresponding OpEx and CapEx to maximize the return on investment and business priorities
  • Responsible for all services at the sites in the region (security service, cafeteria service, etc…)
  • Monitor divisional plant performance against performance goals to ensure progress is being made and corrective action, if necessary, is taken
  • Ensure full compliance with the Quality Management System(s), operations data management, and drive improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement journey to eliminate loss and build capability for the future
  • Responsible for all Safety within Operations with the goal of zero LTI’s (Recordable) and continuous improve on safety
  • Executes all activities related to Value Capture
  • Lead divisional capital program to achieve right balance of business building, cost savings, and asset replacement investment
  • Support Regional Managing Director and regional functional leaders where possible and as requested
  • Develop agenda for continuous improvement tactics that deliver Availability targets with lower total supply chain costs
  • Support divisional business growth and productivity improvement initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation and the HSE Management System and drive improvement


Education & Experience:


Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field; Masters Degree preferred. Minimum 10 years’ experience in Operations (Manufacturing, SC, QC, Eng & Facilities) at (Plant). Management experience in chemical industry (batch and/or continuous processes). Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading multiple sites/plants.


Specific knowledge and expertise in:


  • Understanding of blending processes and reactor chemistry/processes.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and excellence practices within Operations (eg. Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA).
  • Strong ambition to drive Safety.
  • Understanding of operational transaction systems (eg SAP; JDE). JDE knowledge is preferred
  • Experience with general operational/plant HSE legislative requirements, and HSE management systems (ISO 14000/18000; RC).
  • Understanding of QC and QA management systems (ISO 9000/TS 16949).
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain activities and processes in chemical industry (Warehousing, Tolling, Freight, Inv, mgt).
