Principal Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement metrics required to increase transparency of environment performance
- Perform routine gap analyses on customer-facing environments
- Regularly gathering and presenting application health and performing metrics
- Update job knowledge by studying start-of-the-art alerts monitoring, and application performance tools, and best practices with an eye toward improving existing solutions
- Represent the FEI project team as the subject matter expert for alerts, and application performance monitoring
- Develop a framework for log monitoring and system alerts for staging and production environments
- Attend weekly meetings with the internal and external project stakeholders concerning alerts, and application performance
- Work collaboratively with multiple projects development and operational teams to ensure consistent approaches to program delivery
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks to improve the end-user experience
- Help to maintain technical documentation for alerts, and application performance monitoring
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong understanding of Agile and the software development life cycle, specifically design, debugging, testing and documentation
- Successful candidates must be able implement, grow, and speak to performance monitoring on an enterprise level Windows .NET application in IIS with a SQL backend.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, applied information technology or related subject matter
- Familiarity with information security
- Working knowledge of AWS, Windows, IIS, and Git.
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience in DevOps engineering with an emphasis on alerts monitoring and application performance monitoring
- Demonstrated experience creating and/or maintaining alerts and application performance monitoring plans
- Working knowledge of system, application, and log monitoring tools. New Relic and/or Splunk highly preferred.
- Excellent detail-oriented organizational and communications skills
- General familiarity with .NET based application development environment
- Detail-oriented, quick learner with the ability to multi-task
Location: Remote
