The Opportunity

As the Head of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, you will be responsible for creating and driving talent acquisition (i.e., hiring) and onboarding strategies to strengthen the organization's capabilities and ensure it has the talent to meet current and future business needs. This role ranges in responsibility from strategic planning to tactical execution and includes the implementation of talent acquisition programs that positively strengthen the organization's capabilities in attracting, assessing, and selecting top talent. You will closely partner with business leaders and HR leadership teams to gather input, develop creative strategies, and continuously educate on the process, roles and responsibilities with an emphasis on exploring ways to improve diversity and enhance the model's effectiveness and sustainability. This role will report to the Executive Director of Talent Management under minimal supervision or direction and will frequently interact with other internal and external personnel (e.g., external auditors, vendors, regulators). This role will also interact with Ally Senior Leadership.


The Work Itself

  • Implement progressive sourcing strategies including networking, social media, candidate databases, professional societies, intern recruiting and diversity organizations to provide access to top tier talent.
  • Oversee complex, cross-functional projects and processes in a way that increases team collaboration, builds shared vision, and influences results for enterprise solution.
  • Monitor and communicate external labor market/work force trends to senior leadership; devise strategies to leverage or mitigate trends.
  • Drive enterprise-wide planning, sourcing and selection strategies to attract a diverse talent pool and to mitigate bias in our processes.
  • Measure Talent Acquisition effectiveness using performance metrics, gearing ratios, demand/capacity planning, management dashboards, audit procedures, and industry/functional standards.
  • Lead a large team of talent acquisition professionals ranging from seasoned Directors to early career Talent and Sourcing Specialists.
  • Design and execute on individual and team skills development plans.
  • Drive implementation of process improvements to optimize the use of new and existing tools, drive adherence to company policies, and enhance existing processes and their business impact
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and technology to drive enhancements to Talent Acquisition's processes and systems; test new ideas.
  • Develop, oversee and drive effective end-to-end onboarding process (from when a candidate is hired to six months on job), including functions performed both within and outside of HR (e.g., Facilities, Technology)
  • Oversee vendor management for contingency and retained search and other recruiting solutions.
  • Leverage partnerships with Centers of Excellence and HRBPs to prepare for future needs and to devise creative methods to find, attract and pipeline talent.
