Sr. Director, Analytics Engineering

The Analytics Engineering Senior Director is responsible for partnering with data science leaders and delivering analytical engineering solutions to the Northwestern Mutual’s Home and Field Office experience teams. The ideal candidate is a leader who is well versed user of AI/ML engineering and MLops platform to help drive engineering excellence for Data Science. As part of the Data Science COE, this position will help shape and enable adoption of data sciences technologies to drive client adoption and drive revenue. This position will also be responsible for working closely with data engineering teams to drive deployment and adoption of our data platforms . This position will manage a team of advanced analytical engineering professionals and will be responsible and accountable managing the analytical engineering team and ensure the excellence in production deployment of all the AI/ML models.
Core Responsibilities

• Work with a highly cross-functional data team – data science, business intelligence, advanced analytics, data engineering, etc. in designing and delivering data and data science solutions.
• Recommend changes in analytical engineering strategy and action plans based on existing data science portfolio
• This role will be part of data science senior leadership team
• Work closely with technology and business leaders on establishing a holistic modern analytical tech stack,.
• Partner with the data science senior directions and data engineering teams to identify, align, and implement strategic goals and objectives, via advanced analytical solutions
• Lead a strong team of analytical engineers across both home and field experience teams.
• Provide leadership and direction for cross-functional activities that span across multiple functions and organizations
• Lead and provide mentorship to a team of data and business focused professionals
• Provide data management and data expertise to support data science senior directors as a trusted advisor
• Enable to development of future ready architecture for data science activation in collaboration with data engineering, data architecture and governance teams.
• Contribute to the development of AI/ML platforms which includes generative AI product implementation on a future ready architecture

Required Skills

• You have a consistent track record of defining data analytics strategies for business, with marketing background & skills.
• Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Experience in working within a cross-functional team
• Stay up to date on current trends in the AI platform space
• Ability to make sound business decisions by having a strong understanding about business, finance, and risks/benefits of decisions
• Proactive, responsive, and stakeholder-oriented with a strong sense of project ownership and accountability
• Ability to engage on strategy and business objectives with a broad range of peers
• Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate (verbally/written) in a persuasive and appropriate manner at the executive level
• Ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively
• Should be well aware of MLOps framework and future ready architecture
• Ability to inspire and empower others to be at their best

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in using AI/ML for enabling business strategies.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience data science field and has experience in deploying models in production.
• Ability to easily transition from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
• Strong data engineering or analytical engineering expertise.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience. Ability to set priorities, develop roles and responsibilities.
• A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously

Compensation Range
Pay Range - Start:
$143,360.00
Pay Range - End
$204,800.00
